Why don’t you…

I hope everyone is having a lovely summer?!

Bit of a blast from the past here but who remembers the BBC summer holiday programme ‘Why don’t you’?. It ran from the early 70’s through to the mid nineties and had the tag line ‘Why Don’t You Just Switch Off Your Television Set and Go Out and Do Something Less Boring Instead?’.

The project form that programme that has always stuck in my mind is this recipe (of sorts) for choc dipped marshmallows… I remember making a plate of these for the kids in my road during the holidays and it was such fun (making them is more fun than eating they are sweet!).

This is a great afternoon food craft to do with little ones and you can always replace the marshmallows with fruit and the chocolate with yoghurt for a fun and healthy pudding.

Pretty simple process, melt some chocolate (I used choc drops as they melt faster) stick a marshmallow on a cocktail stick or fork and dip the marshmallows first into the chocolate and then into some sprinkles, then leave to cool…a stage that we missed!
