Jam tarts

With the weather still utterly rubbish, instead of braving the freezing wind/snow and going for a walk this afternoon, we made jam tarts! Great little afternoon project to do with little ones as it’s relatively mess free (bar the jam…which is very sticky and now all over Audrey’s toys…and the sofa)

All you need is:

  • Ready rolled pastry (shortcrust preferably)
  • Selection of jams/ marmalade and a spoon
  • Selection of pastry cutters
  • Cupcake tin
  • Cooling rack

It’s pretty self explanatory, just cut rounds for the base, fill with jam and make a cookie cutter lid in any shape you wish; we chose bunny, duck, star and heart shapes and used a mixture of Jams in the end too.
