Getting organised, well, trying!

New Diary

“A dream written down with a date becomes a Goal

A goal broken down into steps becomes a plan

A plan backed up by action makes your dream come true”

Greg S. Reid

I don’t normally make New Year resolutions, but this year I have so many goals that I made three resolutions to try and help me achieve them!

Keep a written diary. iphone calendars and syncing with my lap top are all well and good but there is nothing like having a hand written journal/ diary where I can jot down important deadlines/blog post ideas and any notes that are, well, noteworthy!

Keep in touch with friends via good old snail mail. I have resurrected my old Parker fountain pen and intend to write to friends more, especially ones far away (please don’t hold me to it  though Minx, you know how rubbish I am!). Any excuse to go stationery shopping.

Learn photography (or at least learn how to use my new camera competently!) so that my blog looks fab and I can capture anything and everything in amazing pictures… especially my gorgeous little girl Audrey.

So to facilitate point 1… I was browsing my favourite bloggers and Gemfatale had reviewed some totally kawaii diaries for Company magazine, the one that appealed to me most was the Vintage Year Diary from The Magic Notebook (pictured above). It’s small but perfectly formed and is dateless so you can start it mid-year if you want and it happened to have that very appropriate quote on the cover… weird! Delivery was £2.95 and it came really quickly, they also sent some pretty washi tape samples and cute business cards. I will definitely order from them again, they have loads of gorgeous stationery.

Points 2 and 3 – only time will tell!

What are your resolutions this year, or indeed anti-resolutions?!

Well I do hold you to it! Even if its just a postcard, then at least you can tick off a resolution! 🙂
