DIY bead necklace

I thought I’d share with you what I finally used some of my bead stash for! So here is a simple necklace tutorial for you folks. This would be great to recycle some beads you have on a broken necklace or perhaps a couple of really special ones that you have found.

You will need:

  • Beads (I used 9 but it depends what you have to hand and how long you want your necklace to be)
  • Chain (cut into 2 lengths of your choice)
  • 3 x Jump rings (optional depending on the size of your clasp)
  • 1 x lobster clasp
  • Embroidery floss
  • Jewellery pliers
  • measuring tape

So here goes…

  • Thread your beads onto a length of embroidery floss leaving approx 1″ either end to tie onto your chain.
  • Using your pliers separate the chain into 2 lengths of your choice (depending how long you want your necklace to be)
  • Again, using your pliers add the jump rings to one end of the chain and tie the beads on using the ends of the embroidery floss. Trim the thread (I left a bit on mine just because I like it like that).
  • Add your lobster clasp to the other end of the chain and a jump ring to the other side.
