Craft a week 16 – Embossing

When the lovely folks over at Hobbycraft contacted me about giving the Sizzix Texture Boutique a go I thought why not! Card craft is not something I’ve ever been into particularly but I know that it’s something some of my lovely readers might want to find out about and I’m always up for trying new stuff, plus anything that looks like a hand bag gets my vote!

So for those of you who aren’t aware of what this product is it’s essentially a roller which makes textures on paper and card using specially decorated plates… simple huh! It’s aimed at people who want to make their own greetings card and this set comes with plenty of card to get you going.

So lets get to it; what did I make?!

Well, as soon as my daughter saw this little machine in its box (looking like a glorious hand bag) there was no way she was going to let me play with it without her, at this point I should point out it’s not a toy for kids and I wouldn’t let Audrey play with it without me as it’s way too tempting for little ones to want to put their fingers in it… not a good look. But as mummy’s assistant she was just perfect and had great fun making her own greetings card.

I love the idea of using it for packaging. These would be great for wedding favours or kids’ party bags. The machine is £30 which I think is pretty good if card making is your thang or if you are doing a DIY wedding.

There are a few different embossing folders available to go with your machine, I rather like these zig zag ones.

Have you ever tried embossing? What kind of things do you think you would make?
